Harry McCarthy, Born 1958 in Harrison, NY, Harry was inspired at an early age by his uncle Eddie Julian, a noted Big Band drummer. He was raised in the same metro New York neighborhood as successful drummers, Rick and Jerry Marotta. As a high school student, McCarthy played drums with several New York City-area bands and in 1982, moved to Los Angeles, CA, to pursue a career in music.

In 1989, he helped establish Drum Paradise L.A., whose clients included Ringo Starr, Kenny Aronoff, John "JR" Robinson, Simon Phillips, Harvey Mason, Dave Weckl and Luis Conte. Throughout the late 80's and early 1990's Harry toured extensively with many high profile acts.
